Even winning the championship which ended on Monday, the athlete Mormaii Leco Salazar (pictured above) did not avoid that Kai Lenny, from Hawaii,  stay with the title of champion of the World Tour Stand Up Paddle by anticipation.

Leco Salazar faced his opponent in the final world title. He defeated Lenny with a score of 17.5 X14, 7 Maresias Beach (São Sebastião – SP).

Also participating in the decision the athletes Renato Wanderley and Luis Saraiva, placed third and fourth, respectively.

Son of the legendary surfer Picuruta Slazar, Leco also compete with a known technique. In 2010, he won the Brazilian test in Imbituba, and again this year led Brazil to the top of the podium with notes 9 and 8.5 in a final that starred a show of surf with a board of SUP.

A sea presented waves of half to 1 meter and it was another day of sun and heat in Maresias beach which was the headquarters of the Brazilian World Cup in 2011 SUP – the last year the world stage took place in Ibiraquera beach, also sponsored by Mormaii.

For the first time in the history of the world test stand up paddle, the women’s category was played. The finalists were: Nicole Paccelli (champion), Greta Son (vice), Kate Brady (3rd place) and Milena Amaral (4th place).

The last stage of the Stand Up Paddle World Tour will take place in Hawaii, between November 26 and December 4.

The stand up paddle is a style of catching waves that gets more fans all over the world. It’s a return to the origins of surfing. And once again Mormaii is a pioneer in supporting and sponsoring competitions of action sports, promoting peace, love, health and contact with nature.
