SURF PET FESTIVAL

In 2007, the Gaucho Jairo Lumertz created an ecological table, made from recycled PET bottles.
Now in Brazil, Lumertz and Carolina Scorsin develop the project: Ecological Table, whose purpose is to teach everyone a creative way to reuse bottles.
Jairo and Carolina are encouraging the surf, environmental education and sustainability issues. The first conferences were held in schools of the municipality of Garopaba, where the activity was a great success.
In October 45 conferences were held in Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, to more than 5000 children.
Jairo and Carolina want to continue the project during 2013 and in February aim to develop the work in northeastern Brazil.
The 15th of December will be held on the beach of Garopaba, the first Brazilian championship surf with PET boards.
We invite everyone to participate in the festival with us on this project which aims to make people aware about the importance of preserving nature.
